Research Staff Member in Reinforced Concrete
To further foster innovation and continuously improvethe quality and performance of our monitoringsolutions and services, DuraMon is heavily investing inresearch and development. Our R&D activities focus onunderstanding the electrochemical behavior ofreinforced concrete under real exposure conditions bycombining advanced sensor technologies, long-termfield monitoring, laboratory testing, and data-drivenanalytics.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the electrochemical behavior ofreinforced concrete through laboratory experimentsand in-situ investigations (within Switzerland)
- Analyze large-scale monitoring datasets to improvethe understanding of corrosion mechanisms andenvironmental influences
- Develop and implement data analysis and predictivealgorithms in Python to assess and forecast corrosionprocesses in reinforced concrete
- Define an AI-driven predictive maintenance concept
- Collaborate with the engineering and commercialteams by providing technical expertise
- Represent DuraMon at international conferences, scientific workshops, and industry events
- Contribute to scientific publications
Requirements
- PhD in Civil Engineering
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, including itschemical, electrochemical, and physical behavior
- Experience in the durability assessment anddeterioration mechanisms of reinforced concrete,particularly corrosion processes and their prevention
- Experience with data analysis, algorithmdevelopment, and machine learning (in Python)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Good command of German and Portuguese isconsidered a strong asset
